I would absolutely recommend CFC to anyone experiencing duplicates. I had more than duplicates...in some cases 4, 5, and 6 copies of my vast collection of photos; that resulted from transitioning from one computer to another. CFC was able to identify 247,377 duplicates and freed up 792 GB on my external drive. Plus the customer service was simply amazing. CFC would connect online while the program worked its magic. Several times at 6 in the morning! We connected when it worked for me. How many companies do that? Again - ecstatic to see that customer service prevails. Wish there were more companies with this dedication to helping clients.
CFC did exactly what I needed for reducing the duplicates on my drives. I really appreciate the hash function that is used to identify the duplicates as it takes the worry down about deleting files. PLEASE NOTE - For windows, if you have files that are down deep in directories and/or the file name is really long, then this may cause you issues when doing the compares. This is NOT a CFC problem, its is a windows limitation. Customer/Tech support really shined for me. They helped me understand the windows limitation. So they helped me switch my license to mac, which does not appear to have this limitation.
The product I bought was for removing copies. I
accidentally lost all my data when my computer crashed in the middle of a
drag-and-drop. The program worked amazingly with a small batch (tested first
to

I
sent in a request for a refund since I couldn't use the product at this
point. I
received an email the very next day with instructions and questions and they
were going to help me retrieve my data. I hadn't purchased a data recovery
program, so I was elated. They went above and beyond. I've had lots of
programs
over the years and not one of them has ever tried to help to keep the
customer
happy, so I would be very proud of that fact. Please keep up that level of
commitment in a day and time where money usually is the only thing that
matters.

Wow! I used PictureEcho and Clone File Checker to get rid of over 1.5 million pictures, documents etc from my computers. I have been searching for tools to find duplicate files effectively for years, With file transfers and various programs used since my first 8088 running Dos, I have had so many files duplicated. Well over 1.5 million pictures, documents, music etc.and no way to tame them. I had 1.7 tb files on an external drive and 650 Gb on my C: After using these programs to wipe out the duplicates I now have everything on my Google Drive and I am down to 325.1 gb of data.
