Getting Started

Download and install the Box for Office 365 integration package from:

In order to be able to successfully install this integration, you should be logged in from an account that enjoys administrative privileges. Additionally you should be using Windows 7 or above, and Office 2010 or above.

Once the installation is over, open an Office application such as Word or Excel. Now navigate to Open menu (you may need to click the Open Other Documents option from the initial screen) and select Box as a source. There you will be required to sign-in with your Box account credentials. Once you’re done, you can easily logout from any of the following pages: Open, Save As or Share.

You can directly edit your uploaded Office files from Box as well.

(But please not that it doesn’t support the old office file formats such as .doc, .xls and .ppt)

Another great news is that Box for Office supports real-time co-authoring, wherein it allows multiple users to edit the same document at the same time, without losing any changes.

And the best thing about this integration is that it is fully compatible with both iOS and Android platforms.

Mobile

For both platforms, you should install the latest Office package and Box app (with iOS 8+ or KitKat+). You can either open Box files using the Office app or open/save an Office file from/to Box storage with this integration facility.
