Perform Operations at Desktop Level?

If you are still looking to perform operations at the desktop level, please follow our guide below. It involves manual steps and the automatic cleaning through our desktop software, Clone Files Checker.

Google Drive offers up to 30TB of space and is known as one of the major cloud service providers in the market. This storage capacity is shared among Gmail, Photos and Google Drive itself. If it is being used more often, chances are that it may be filled with a lot of duplicate content apart from the original data. This tutorial explains how to remove such duplicate content and retrieve any wasted space.

If you put your Google Photos into the Google Drive folder, it will be easy for a software like Clone Files Checker to scan them without having them downloaded to the system. This can save your time on finding duplicates. GET IT NOW!

Solution : Use Clone Files Checker (CFC)

The key feature in this application is the ability to scan and remove Google Drive duplicate files without even downloading them to the user’s computer, and for this reason, Internet bandwidth is not wasted when duplicate files are being cleaned out. This tutorial utilizes this application to scan for unwanted files.

  1. Visit the following website through the web browser:
    https://www.clonefileschecker.com/
  2. Click the Download button. It will initiate the download momentarily.
  3. Once the software is downloaded, click on it to execute its installation.
  4. Once the installation is over, launch CFC by clicking its desktop shortcut icon.
  5. In the Clone Files Checker user interface, locate and click on the Cloud Scan tab. The selected tabs are always highlighted in yellow.
  6. Next, locate the Load Drive button which is painted green within the Select drive/folder group box. Now click to connect with the Google account. Also make sure you’ve enabled the setting to include Google Photos in Google Drive.
  7. Type in the login credentials of the Google account. If 2 factor authentication is enabled, you will be required to enter either the phone number or the code shown in the Authentication app developed by Google itself.
  8. Now select the folder which you wish to scan for duplicates. Alternatively, if the whole drive is to be scanned, simply select My Drive, and it will check anything that goes under it.
  9. In Step 2, select CustomImages. Finally, click on Start Search to initiate searching for duplicate images in the selected folder.
  10. Examine the images that were returned by the search to make sure only the intended files are removed.
