What are Clone Files? How are they created?

Note: New features were added into the Clone Files Checker. It is recommended you see the features and video tutorials to learn how to use the Quick-Fix feature of the product.

Clone files, also known as duplicate or identical files, are space-eating files. These files are same sized with same content. However the file names vary and these files may be scattered in different locations of your hard disk.

What are the Benefits of Deleting Clone Files?

  • Find and delete duplicate files including documents, music, videos, images and archives from your computer.
  • Make more disk space, recover tens of GBs of space and reclaim lost PC performance.
  • Your PC will run faster and smoother.
  • Your files will be re-organized in an effective manner so you won’t have to waste daily 10 minutes organizing tons of files again.
  • Concentrate on your work; spend less time organizing your files.
  • Save your money by recovering tens of GBs of your hard disk. You won’t have to subscribe to cloud services, or buy an external hard disk.

Distinguishing Quick Fix and Review & Fix

Step # 2: Specify whether you want to retain the newest or oldest image files.

Step # 3: Specify whether you want to move your image files to Recycle Bin, a separate folder, or delete them permanently.

How to Use Review & Fix Feature?

In case of Review & Fix, the software will list down all duplicate files in a listbox so that you can choose files you want to remove.

  • Preview Images: The list box may contain some image files. Hover the cursor on an image file name to show the preview.
  • Review Duplicates: Review duplicate files listed in the list box. Decide which files you want to remove.
