1. Check This PC and the desktop for all duplicate folders

2. Once you’ve determined the dupe folders, head over to this link and download the registry file for the duplicate folder you want to get rid of

3. Make sure the registry is meant for the Windows version you have; either 32-bit or 64-bit. You can find out about the Windows version by right-clicking on This PC > Properties

4. Download either of these files:

“32-bit_Remove_All_user_Folders_in_This_PC.reg” or “64-bit_Remove_All_user_Folders_in_This_PC.reg”

5. And download one file (as applicable) from these “32-bit_Restore_All_user_Folders_in_This_PC.reg” or “64-bit_Restore_All_user_Folders_in_This_PC.reg”

6. Now run the registry file you downloaded in the 4th step and grant any permission it asks for

7. Reboot your PC once the registry values have been edited

8. Once the computer boots up, you’ll notice both the original as well as the duplicate folders have been removed

9. Lastly, run the registry file you downloaded in the 5th step to get the original folders you just deleted.

10 Reboot your computer.
