Using VLC

With VLC Media Player create a playlist of different music files stored on your PC. VLC enables you to add multiple music files at once, so it won’t take much time to add up the files. Sort the tracks in a simple way to easily identify duplicates. Go to the parent folder of each duplicate file and delete it.

1. Open VLC Media Player.

2. Click Media menu.

3. Select Open multiple files option.

4. This opens up a new dialog named Open Media.

5. Click File tab as we’ve to select multiple music files from hard disk.

6. Click Add button.

7. In the Browse dialog that opens, add multiple music files. To do so, use Ctrl + Shift + Arrow Keys.

8. Finally, click Play button.

9. Now that you’ve started music playback. As default, playlist is hidden which we will be opening now.

10. Click View | Playback. You can alternatively press Ctrl + L simultaneously.

11. This opens up Playlist dialog.

12. Sort all files in alphabetically. Click Title column head. This rearranges the tracks in a sequence.

13. You can now easily identify duplicate tracks. All you’ve to do is right click a duplicate track, select Show containing folder option and then delete the target file.
