Find Duplicate Files by Content

You’d be surprised to know the volume of your HDD storage which is filled with duplicate files — wallpapers, images, personal documents, music, videos, movies, recorded TV shows, archive files, and so on. Why tolerate this duplication? Will you computer face storage issues if you continue to allow this redundancy? The answer is: No. But, it will certainly make your files disorganized and difficult to find. It is always better to keep dupes at bay for a cleaner and faster system.

How your PC accumulates dupes?

You may get duplicate files from different sources — while transferring files from a friend’s USB, synchronizing music files, downloading Internet files, multiple old backups, and so on.

The most practical way to find dupes is to scan your hard drive using a duplicate cleaning tool.

Procedure to find duplicate files by content

• Download and install Sorcim’s Clone Files Checker and run it.
• Add new drives/ folders that you would like to scan.
• Customize the scan settings. Select whether you want to scan all files or only custom files.
• When you’re done scanning selected drives/ folders, choose Quick-Fix to automatically take selected action; or Review & Fix to list results and take action accordingly.

Backups

To restore any deleted files, get list of all automatically created backups in the History tab. Just select the scan and then click the Restore button. You’ll be prompted to restore all or selected backups.
