Diagnose RAM

Diagnose memory problems using Windows Memory Diagnostic tool. To do so, type “Memory” in Search box, and then open that tool.

Overheating Video Card

Does your laptop fan noise increases periodically? It is likely to be a graphics card overheating issue. Heat is your laptop’s enemy, and can damage its internal components. Graphics card infinite loop crash occurs when too much heat builds up worsened by inadequate ventilation. This makes your system unstable and it may experience different problems. Monitor your computer’s graphic card temperature using free tools, such as, Speed Fan, HW Monitor.

Here are the immediate measures you have to take after confirming it’s a video card overheating issue:

1. Clean the dust from your laptop’s internal components, including video card
2. Make sure all internal parts, incl. video card, are properly ventilated. Be careful while dealing with small components.
3. Replace fans: Make sure your fan works properly. Before buying a new fan, unplug and replug the existing fan.
4. Use thermal paste: Apply the thermal paste on processor to control heating.

Rollback Graphics Driver

If you’re experiencing this problem after recent driver update, rollback it to a previous version using the Device Manager. Just type name of this tool in Search Box, and then expand top node > Display Adapters. Open Driver Properties dialog > Driver tab > Rollback Driver.

Disable Overclocking

Have you overclocked your video card? Don’t use it at its optimum capacity. Graphics card infinite loop crash occurs when the power supply is overloaded, which in turn, overheats the components. The solution lies in disabling the overclocking feature in order to gradually decrease the power consumption and cool it down further. Diagnose Power Supply

Firstly, it is very difficult to identify and diagnose problems relating to your laptop’s power supply. Swap in a reliable high-end power supply, although it may be not be a realistic solution.

Secondly, whether the voltages are in range. Use a system board monitoring tool such as SpeedFan and SensorsView. It has some drawbacks too. Sometimes, your motherboard may not be able to retrieve accurate voltage information. Please contact a local technician for more information.

Use High Performance NVIDIA Processor

When you right click the malfunctioning application or game that crashes your graphics card, it shall display an option to run it with graphics processor. Choose that option, and then select high performance NVIDIA processor.

If you couldn’t see any of these options, just launch the NVIDIA Control Panel and then click View in the main menu, check-up “Add ‘Run with graphics processor’ to context menu” option. You may have to save the changes.
