Transfer Work Files from Amazon to Dropbox

Amazon Drive has made a major announcement recently. The service is scheduled to permanently shut down as of December 31, 2023. The cut off date for adding new files to Amazon Drive is even early, i.e. January 31, 2023. You may only be able to view or download your existing files for a limited period. If you have a large number of files in your Amazon Cloud Drive, your best bet is to transfer them to another cloud service such as Dropbox.

Product Spotlight: EASY CLOUD MANAGER (ECM) to transfer files across clouds. ECM uses official cloud APIs and provides amazing options to manage files on cloud. Use it free here: https://www.easycloudmanager.com/

What’s Cloud Computing?

Back in the early days of computing, organizations would set up their own local servers to store massive amounts of data. These centralized servers would make the data accessible to other computers in the same corporate network. Undeniably, it had its own drawbacks. Fire, flood, earthquake and other calamities would result in massive data losses. As the redundant copies of the original data were hosted in the same premises, the backup systems would collapse in no time.

Thankfully, the cloud has changed everything. With the evolution of cloud computing, purchasing, maintaining and upgrading dedicated on-premise servers has become a thing of the past. Organizations only pay for the storage (and sometimes, bandwidth) they consume. No longer do they need to set up a dedicated IT force for on-premise servers. Besides, your cloud storage provider creates redundant backup copies of your data and stores them at different locations across the world with military grade encryption.

Bonus Tip: Dedupe your Dropbox Account to Make Room for Amazon Cloud Drive Files

Migrating data from one cloud storage to another is not always easy. It takes time and requires additional space in your other account. Unfortunately, upgrading to a higher plan is not always an economical option for many.

The solution is simple: Register on Cloud Duplicate Finder to delete duplicate files in your Dropbox account and make room for new storage. Thankfully, no files need to be downloaded to your PC.

Cloud Duplicate Finder Features:

  • Supports OneDrive, Amazon S3, Box, Dropbox, Google Drive, etc.
  • Uses official APIs to securely access your data.
  • Every action is performed over-the-cloud.
  • Scan all folders in your Dropbox for duplication, or specific folders of your choice.
  • File type filters allow you to decide which file types to scan for duplication (for example, all files, documents, music, images, videos, archives, etc).
  • In-house file preview. No files need to be downloaded for previewing purposes.
  • Automatic file selection.
  • Move duplicates to another folder or delete permanently.

Note: CDF does not support Amazon Cloud Drive.
